The system can be used with HO scale trains with one limitation: the unit cannot handle stations on dead-end or spur tracks.  This is because the system depends on an e-unit in the engine for reversing the train.  All other functions can be used just as with O and S gauge.

HO Installation:

1.  The sensor(s) should be mounted between the rails as shown in the picture above.  With Bachmann’s EZ-Track, drill two 3/8" holes centered 3/8" apart, then slide the drill bit between the two holes to form a slot.  This should be just about the correct size for the sensor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.  Mount the barcode on the bottom of a car with double stick tape or by bending the supplied mounts so that, when mounted, the barcode clears any obstructions. The baggage car is a good choice, as it usually is closest to the engine.
